The international conference Understanding Timor-Leste:2025, organized by the Timor-Leste Studies Association, will take place from 16 to 18 July at the Liceu campus of the National University of Timor Lorosa’e (UNTL) in Dili, Timor-Leste. AIA-SEAS will be present with contributions from several of its members – Kelly Silva, Marisa Gonçalves, Takayasu Goto & Zélia Pereira.
In addition to the various general themes of the conference, there are also the following special themes:
- 1975 – 50 Years On (convened by Clinton Fernandes);
- Timor-Leste’s International Relations and ASEAN (convened by Mica Barreto-Soares);
- Indigenous Knowledges (convened by Josh Trindade);
- Inclusive Economy (convened by Guteriano Neves);
- Gender Research in Timor-Leste (convened by Tam Nguyen);
- Tourism research (convened by Feliciano Quintas).
- Mutli-species Engagements in Timor-Leste (convened by Susanna Barnes and Josh Trindade);
- Peace studies (convened by Lynda Blanchard)
