New article by Camila Tribess proposes Buibere pedagogy

Camila Tribess, an associate of AIASEAS, recently published a new article on Buibere pedagogy as a legacy of Timorese women’s resistance. This article, which summarises her doctoral research, presents the research conducted through interviews and analysis of historical documents and focuses on the importance of the major political, cultural, educational and diplomatic contributions of Timorese women of the 1975 generation. The article highlights the relevance of these contributions, exploring them through the lens of feminist and decolonial pedagogies, arguing that this proposal for Buibere pedagogy offers an approach to the perspectives of Timorese women not only in the struggle for Timorese independence, but also in the struggle for gender equality in Timor-Leste.
