Diálogos is an open-access, peer-reviewed, and indexed scholarly journal dedicated to publishing studies in Philosophy, Social Science, and Humanities. It aims to provide and share knowledge through approaches that consider the diversity of worldviews, reflection, exchange of experiences and the deepening of issues relevant to society. There are no article processing charges to get published in the journal. Organized by the Faculty of Philosophy and Human Sciences of the National University of Timor Lorosa’e (Timor-Leste), Diálogos has been published annually since 2016.
In 2025, Diálogos will celebrate its 10th anniversary. To mark this occasion, we present the theme:
Theory and Practice: An Overview of Research in Timor-Leste.
Articles can be sent until March 15, 2025.
Articles can be written in Tetun, Portuguese or English.

We expect articles to address a wide range of issues related to research in the country, including:
Analysis of innovative and traditional methodological approaches used in studies in Timor-Leste; studies that analyse the work of an author or group of authors relevant to research in the Timorese context; explorations of theoretical concepts and practical techniques applied in conducting research; meta-analyses that offer a comprehensive overview of research in various areas in Timor-Leste; research on how science is taught in schools and universities, including curricula, pedagogies, and outcomes; assessments of the level of scientific literacy in Timorese society and initiatives to promote it; identification and analysis of the main challenges faced by researchers in Timor-Leste, such as resources, infrastructure, and policies; studies on the role of higher education institutions, schools, government, NGOs in the production, dissemination, and application of scientific knowledge; studies examining the social impact of scientific and technological research on local communities; investigations into the role of technology and innovation in advancing research and development in Timor-Leste; analysis of the age, gender, and socioeconomic distribution of research topics and the profiles of researchers; studies on the relationships between knowledge, power dynamics, and the Timorese socio-historical context that influence scientific research; the role of the media in the socialization of knowledge, among others.
We aim that this edition (2025) of Revista Diálogos contribute to understanding, the advancement of research, and a collaborative environment for the exchange of ideas and practices among academics, educators, and professionals from different areas.
Guidelines for authors:
a) Revista Diálogos follows APA standards.
b) We accept articles written in Tetun, Portuguese, and English.
c) Articles must be written in Times New Roman font, size 12, justified, A4 format (210×297 mm), with 1.5 line spacing and a 1.0 paragraph indentation.
d) Articles can range from a minimum of 4,000 words to a maximum of 8,000 words, including title, abstract, keywords, references, and notes.
e) Abstracts must be between 100 and 200 words, single-spaced. Articles written in Portuguese or Tetun must include an abstract in the original language of the text and another in English. Articles written in English must include an abstract in the original language of the text and another in Portuguese.
f) Keywords: Articles written in Portuguese or Tetun must have 4 keywords in the original language of the text and in English. Articles written in English must have 4 keywords in the original language of the text and in Portuguese.
g) Images, graphs, and tables must be submitted in high resolution with a description of the source.
h) Italics should be used for foreign words, titles (books, events, etc.), and emphasis.
i) Bold and underlined text markers should be avoided.
j) Footnotes should only be used if they are relevant to understanding the text.
