Teresa Cunha

Holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Coimbra. Senior researcher at the Centre for Social Studies (CES) of the University of Coimbra, teaching in various doctoral courses of the institution, and co-coordinating the Publication ‘Oficina do CES’ as well as the and the Research Program Epistemologies of the South. Co-coordinated the Gender Workshop cycles between 2012 and 2022. Coordinates the ‘Feminist Ecologies of Knowledges’ School. Is a coordinating professor at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, a researcher at the Gernika Gogoratuz Peace Research Centre in the Basque Country, an associate researcher at CODESRIA – Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa – and the Centre for African Studies at Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique. In 2017, was awarded with the Order of Timor-Leste by the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. The research interests are feminisms and postcolonialisms; care; other economies and feminist women’s economies; post-war transition, peace and memories; women’s human rights in the Indian Ocean space.
