Helena Borges Manuel

Holds a Ph.D. in Intercultural Psychology from Universidade Aberta (UAb). Has a Master’s degree in Health Communication from UAb and a Master’s degree in Community Nursing from Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Lisboa (ESEL). Has a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL) and is specialized in Development and International Cooperation by Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão (ISEG). Is a researcher at the Center for Migration and Intercultural Relations Studies (CEMRI) at UAb, conducting research in the field of “Health, Culture, and Development”. In Timor-Leste, was a member of the Portuguese Diplomatic Mission (1999-2000), participated in the International Cooperation Project “Institutional Strengthening of the Institute of Health Sciences of Timor-Leste” as a Guest Professor at Escola Superior de Saúde da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa (ESSCVP), and served as Special Delegate of the Portuguese Red Cross (2008-2009).
